Diane (Penley) Meadows

            Diane Penley Meadows, age 72, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 3,  2021, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. Diane was born on April 19, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Blake Ransom Penley and Wilma Rice Penley.

 She was retired from her job as a traveling nurse with Care Partners and she was of the Baptist faith. Diane was a very caring person who would give you her last penny. She loved the Lord and was a God- fearing Christian woman.  She was also a very brave and courageous person who survived many of life’s challenges.

            Diane loved going out to eat at different places, going camping at the lake with her family, and traveling to the beach. Her daughters and her grandchildren were the joys of her life, and they would tell you that she was the glue that held their family together. She will be missed terribly.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J. C. Meadows; and a brother, Butch Penley. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Sheila Meadows Roseborough of Leicester, NC and Tammy Meadows (Robert Blackwell) of Marshall, NC; grandson, Bransyn Meadows-Boyd (Kylee) of Candler, NC; twin granddaughters, Kalie Jae and Matalie Shae Meadows, both of Leicester; great-grandson Jaxx Dacota Boyd of Candler; and five sisters and one brother.

            A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Clark officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1pm-2pm in the chapel and burial will follow the service at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester.
