Edward Lee Collins

Edward Lee Collins, 63, of Swannanoa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at his home.

 Born September 11, 1959, in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late John and Gladys Collins.  He was employed by Subaru’s -r-us for several years before retiring in 2020.

 Of his many enjoyments in life, casting a line into the water off Cape Lookout and spending time with his family were among his favorites.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Collins.

  Surviving are his children, Liberty Marie Hyatt and her spouse, Dwayne Goforth, of Black Mountain, Joshua Lee Collins of Hendersonville, and Wendy Sue Collins and her spouse, Tony Burnette, of Swannanoa; siblings, John “Johnny” Collins and his spouse, Cindy, of Asheville, and Cathy Lewis and her spouse, Bobby, of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Dalton Blaine Hyatt, Logan Maddox Burnette, and Payton Storm Goforth; and several additional siblings, nieces, and nephews.

  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa with Rev. James Lamb officiating.

  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
