Elvina Opal Elliott, 80, of Hayesville, NC passed away July 15, 2024 at the Clay County Care Center. Ms. Elliott was a graduate of Hayesville High School. After graduation, she went to Warren Wilson College where she taught and retired from the NC School system. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eden. She was very active in the church and enjoyed going on mission trips to several different countries.
She is preceded in death by her father, Luther Elliott, and mother, Wilma Padgett Elliott, and a brother, Virgil Gene Elliott. Surviving is her brother Roger Ivane Elliott and wife Patricia of Hayesville; two nephews, Tony Elliott and wife Stephanie of Hayesville and Jason Elliott and wife Deanna of Hayesville; three great-nephews Jakob Elliott and wife Cheyanna of Kershaw, SC, Jace Elliott and fiancée Kaytie Clampit of Hayesville and Benjamin Elliott of Hayesville; one great niece Beclynn Elliott of Hayesville; and three great-great nephews, Josiah and Elijah Elliott and Luca Clampitt. She also had many friends and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m.
Tony Elliott, Jason Elliott, Jakob Elliott, Jayce Elliott, Steve Byers, and Daniel Moss will be pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clay County Care Center Activities Department or Oak Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
