Eugene Erwin Ducker

Eugene Erwin Ducker, age 77, of Fletcher, NC, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Universal Healthcare in Fletcher.

Eugene was born on March 31, 1947 in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Radney Roosevelt Ducker and Bonnie Russell Ducker. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he served his country proudly during the Vietnam Era. Eugene was of the Baptist faith and retired from Wilson Arts.

He was a loving son, brother and father, who was always thinking of others and doing what he could to help them. He enjoyed working with wood, building, and construction. He was an excellent carpenter.

Naturally humble and a quiet man he was, until he became a resident at Universal Healthcare. He made many friends and was the life of the party there! He was known to have the staff and other residents laughing and cutting up at his antics and he always left them smiling and in good spirits. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Carroll, Dewey and Cecil Ducker; and a sister, Theresa Vanoy.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Tommy Ducker of Elizabeth City, NC and Shawn Dills of Fletcher, NC; brother, Dwight Ducker and his wife Lynn, of Fletcher; and a sister, Ruth Waldroup of Asheville, NC.
