George Lloyd Lamb

            George Lloyd Lamb, age 81, of Leicester, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on June 4, 1938 in Madison County to the late Hobart Fred and Margaret Martin Lamb. George was a United States Army Veteran who served between Korea and Vietnam. He also was a pressman for a label manufacturing company, a greeter at Sam's Store and was a member of Newfound Baptist Church in Leicester. In addition to his parents, George was also predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Lamb and his sister-in-law, Joyce Pressley Lamb. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Israel Lamb; his son, Tracy Lamb of Leicester; his daughters, Terry Lamb Lance (Steve) of Leicester and Deanna Lamb of Leicester; his brother, Rev. James Lamb; his sisters, Geneva Lamb of Asheville and Joyce Biddix of Hendersonville; his eight grandchildren; and his six great grandchildren.

            A memorial service will be held at a later date at Newfound Baptist Church. George will be buried at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Lamb Family.
