Georgia Esther (Sneed) Hudgins

            Georgia Esther Sneed Hudgins, age 91, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away, on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. She was born on December 11, 1929 in Buncombe County to the late Eddie Hugh Sneed and Gertrude Smith Sneed. Georgia attended Vance Avenue Baptist Church in Black Mountain and was retired from Taylor Instrument in Arden where she had worked as an assembler and calibrator for medical and weather instruments. She was a very sweet and kind-hearted person who was generous to a fault. Georgia loved her family dearly and was a doting grandmother. She enjoyed growing flowers, singing and dancing. She had a great sense of humor and was always fun to be with.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Douglas McCall; her first husband and father of her children, Dorris McCall; her second husband, Charles Hudgins; three sisters; and four brothers.

            Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Janis Wheeler of Swannanoa  and Peggy Sisk of Oteen; her two sons, Bruce McCall of Black Mountain and Daniel McCall of Swannanoa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

            A graveside service will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Skyview Memorial Park at 1610 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805. The Reverend Jeff Hall will be officiating.
