Harriett Louise (Greene) Wiseman

Harriett Louise Greene Wiseman, age 86, of Asheville, NC passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Greens of Weaverville Nursing Home.

Harriett was born in Oak Ridge, TN, on December 10, 1939, to the late Charles and Marie Greene. She was a graduate of Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, where she earned her teaching degree and devoted her career to educating children and adults. Harriett raised her family in Decatur, GA, where she lived for over 40 years. She moved to Asheville, NC, in 2002.

In addition to her parents, Harriett was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Wiseman, sister Charlene Smith, and brother Edward Greene. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was always her priority. She was incredibly resilient, resourceful, and compassionate. Harriett was an incredible cook, and many people gathered at her dinner table. She loved teaching, soccer, and helping others. She was impactful on many lives and will be sorely missed by her family and loved ones.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Wiseman and wife Sherri of Atlanta, GA and Stephan Wiseman and wife Samantha of Atlanta, GA; daughters Christian Constante of Asheville, NC and Susan Edwards and husband Derrick of Asheville, NC; brother David Greene and wife Barbara of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Candace, Homero, Maria, Scott, Elena, Zoe, Benjamin, and Graham; and 3 great-grandchildren, Vincent, Haze and Cassidy.

Harriett’s ashes will be spread on Roan Mountain in Tennessee.
