Rev. Jack B. Ellege unexpectedly went to meet his Lord and Savior the morning of March 30th after a brief illness.
Jack had an amazing and rich life, working for the Frito Lay Corporation for 14 years and then the Asheville housing authority for 18 years. He was an avid archer, fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved his family and loved the Lord more than anything in his life. He preached the gospel of Christ for more than 20 years and was the pastor of State Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Velda “Sue” Ellege of the home, his son Tim Ellege and his wife Carrie, his daughter in law Kathy Ellege, and his grandchildren Angelique, Lydia and Blake Ellege.
A graveside service open to family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 12th at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church; 125 Ben Lippen Road, Asheville.
