Jacqueline Dianne (Watkins) Petrey

Jacqueline Dianne Watkins Petrey, age 60, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the early morning hours of Monday, October 9, 2023, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Jacqueline was born on November 26, 1962 in Louisville, KY to Gertha Allen Watkins of Ft. Meyers, FL and the late Russell Watkins.

She was a Christian lady who was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved and adored all of her children and grandchildren.  Jacqueline enjoyed being outside in nature and loved being in the mountains as well as being at the beach.

In addition to her father, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Williams.

In addition to her mother, those left behind to cherish Jacqueline’s memory are her beloved three daughters, Ashley Petrey of Charleston, SC, Amy Graves and her husband Darren of Swannanoa, NC and Amber Higbea and her husband Cody of Swannanoa, NC; three sisters, Patti Hintz of Pensacola, FL, Debbie Barnes and her husband Russell of Tampa, FL, and Terri Watkins of Winter Haven, FL; 11 grandchildren; and 7 nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life service for Jacqueline on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Please call (828) 776-4271 for information regarding her service.
