Jakey Cole, Jr.

Jakey Cole Jr., 88, of Asheville, NC, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home.

Jakey was born on September 25, 1937, in Buncombe County, NC, to the late Jakey Cole Sr. (1942) and Mary Brown. He is also preceded in death by his spouse, Geraldine Anders Cole; sons, Jakey Cole III and Stanley Cole.

Surviving Jakey is his daughter, Diane Shelton (David) of Marshall, NC; son, Richard Cole (Shannon) of Canton, NC; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11am to 12:30pm on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC 28778. A graveside service will follow at 1pm at Green Hills Cemetery, 25 New Leicester Hwy, Asheville, NC 28806.
