James Redmon Obituary

James Ronald Redmon, age 83 of Asheville, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.

James was born on June 16, 1939 in Buncombe County to the late James Cecil Redmon and Cordia Moody Redmon.

He was the owner and operator of Redmon’s Automotive in Swannanoa  before he retired.  James was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family dearly and they will miss him deeply until they are together again in heaven.

James was an outdoorsy man who loved to go fishing and hunting. He always looked forward to the days he and his wife could go and enjoy their RV on Lake Russell in Georgia and just relax. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden at home.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Ivey.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife and best friend of 62 years, Patricia “Ann” Ray Redmon, of the home; two sons, Wesley (Peggy) Redmon of Fairview, NC and Darrin (Jennifer) Redmon of Swannanoa, NC;  daughter, Jill Simmons of Asheville, NC;  brother, David (Brenda) Redmon of Ormond Beach, FL; grandson, Paul Redmon of Asheville, NC; two granddaughters, Sarah (Andy) Trigerous of Asheville, NC and Peggy Ann (Corey) Fisher of Asheville, NC; and two great-granddaughters, Olivine Trigerous and Deanna Fisher, both of Asheville, NC.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
