Jeanette Brown Obituary

Jeanette Dianne Bradley Brown, age 65, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on April 16, 2023 in Buncombe Co., NC.

Jeanette was born on August 21, 1957 in Jackson Co., to the late Max Bradley and Evelyn Brown Bradley. She was retired from her job as an LPN at Mission Hospital and she attended Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville, NC.

Jeanette along with her husband Charlie, were the owners and operators of Browns Pottery in Arden, NC. She was a master glazer in pottery and her “face jugs” are on display in many notable museums such as the Chrysler Museum, Smithsonian, Rockefeller, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and American Folk-Art Museum in NY.

Jeanette was a woman who was full of fun and always playing jokes on her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family and her children were her whole world. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Bradley; and her two sons, Charlie “Little Charlie” Brown and Christian Brown.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 37 years, Charlie Brown of Swannanoa; a step-daughter, Stephanie Brown of Arden, NC; a sister, Kathy Peek of Knoxville, TN; a sister in law, Janice Bradley of Arden, NC; and six nieces, Megan and Miranda Peek, both of Arden, NC, Shavonne “Shay” Barrera (Victor) of Swannanoa, NC, Aimee Bautista of Ohio, Sara Potito (Matt) and Vanessa Davis, both of Hendersonville, NC.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
