Jeffrey Dean Crowe

Jeffrey Dean Crowe, 54, of Swannanoa, NC passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his home.

Born September 3, 1971 in Buncombe County, NC, he was a son of the late Coleman and Joann Crowe. He attended the Orthopedic School. In his earlier years, he attended Gladys Baptist Church in Candler, but more recently he had attended East Black Mountain Freewill Baptist Church in Black Mountain. Jeff enjoyed listening to blue grass music especially his favorite group, Primitive Quartet; going to car shows to see thee antique trucks; and making pom poms out of brown paper bags.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Crowe. Surviving are his adopted parents, Fran and Jimmy Swanger of Swannanoa, NC; second mama, Cindy Wright of Swannanoa, NC; and many additional members of his adopted family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends an hour prior. Rev. Danny Sprinkle and Kenny Wright will be officiating. He will be laid to rest at Gladys Baptist Church Cemetery in Candler, NC.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Heather Ramos, Brian Foster, and Ryan Williams for the care that they helped provide for Jeff.  They would also like to recognize both Summerland Homes and New Beginnings for their assistance in care for Jeff.
