Jeffrey Allen Guffey, 49, of McLeansville, NC, passed into glory on Saturday, April 18, 2026. After a long and courageous fight against cancer, he was surrounded by the love and care of his family in his last days and now is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jeff fought cancer for over thirteen years. He was grateful for the tremendous care from the oncology team at UNC Health. He was active in First Descents, an adventure program for those living with cancer, and he encouraged numerous individuals and families struggling with cancer over the years.
Jeff grew up in and lived all his life in McLeansville, NC. He was a proud graduate and alumni of East Carolina University. He worked many years as a teacher and athletic trainer and as a volunteer at the McLeansville Fire Department. He was an active member and played in the band at Hope Church. He loved all of his nieces and nephews and was especially proud to be a “great uncle”. He loved and doted over his beloved dog Noma.
Jeff was predeceased by his mom, Dorothy Clapp Guffey, and his dad, James Kenneth Guffey. He is survived by his siblings, Jay Guffey (Laurie), Tammy Huntley (Matt), and Kim Jackson (Jeremiah), nine nieces and nephews, and five great nieces and nephews.
