Jerry Van Gosnell

Jerry Van Gosnell, age 83, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.

Jerry was born on June 3, 1941, to the late Frank Conover Gosnell, Sr., and Martha Matilda Ingle. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and worked as a truck driver for MB Haynes Electrical for 33 years. Jerry was a God-fearing man who loved, protected, and worked hard for his family. He enjoyed going to church and teaching his grandchildren the ways of life. He was a member of Community Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Colleen Hunter Gosnell, who passed two months prior to him; brother Frank Gosnell Jr. and Ben Gosnell; sister Betty Lockridge. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Jerry Lynn Gosnell and wife Cindi of Asheville and Michael Carl Gosnell; daughter, Melissa Rosanna Gosnell; brothers Jim Gosnell and Joe Gosnell and wife Diane; sister Carolyn Frizzell; 5 grandchildren, Christina Jones, Kimberly Jones, Abigail Gosnell, Elli Gosnell and Evan Gosnell and 5 great-grandchildren, Lilyan Jones, Asa Scott, Zuriana Robinson, Mazie Robinson and Jeremiah Smith,

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11 AM at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Dean Rice officiating.
