Jesse Albert Haney, Sr.

             Jesse Albert Haney, Sr., age 88, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was born on August 25, 1932 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Jesse Haney and Aileen McIntyre. Jesse was a United States Navy Veteran and then worked as a weaver at Burlington. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved Jesus with all his heart. Jesse also loved his family dearly and thoroughly enjoyed fishing.

            Along with his parents, Jesse was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clara Dorothy Yarborough Haney; daughters, Colleen Overman and Evelyn Sander; and his brother, Thurman Haney.

            Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Brenda Crenshaw of Candler, NC, Teresa Haney of Newport, TN, and Clara Lynn Banks (Johnny) of Canton, NC; his son, Jesse Haney, Jr. of Asheville, NC; his niece, Shannon Buckner (Albert) of Asheville, NC; his great niece, of Asheville, NC; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

            John 5:24 (NKJV) "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."

            A memorial service will be held at a later date. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Haney Family and assisting them with arrangements.
