Joan Elizabeth Beacon

Joan Elizabeth Beacon, age 95, of Black Mountain, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Born on October 15, 1930, in Lachine, Quebec, Joan was raised in Canada by her parents, the late George and Mary Christie. She was married to her husband, Robert Beacon, for over 60 years before he passed away in 2011.

Joan had a deep love for her family and loved helping others and spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Sandra Belfor (Howard), Judy Beacon, Rick Beacon (Emily), Gordon Beacon, and Joanne Tribble (Patrick). She was blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 am at Black Mountain United Methodist Church, 101 Church St., Black Mountain, NC 28711. A reception will follow the service at the church.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of Givens Highland Farms for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Christian Appalachian Project or Doctors Without Borders.
