Johnny Adams, Jr. age 71, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his home.
Johnny was born on May 2, 1951, in Kodak, Kentucky to the late Johnny Adams, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Rose Adams. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was retired. Johnny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a dedicated church member.
Johnny was a loving and wonderful son, husband, father, and grandfather. If you knew Johnny, you would know he put his family first and they were his everything. He was a practical joker with a possum grin. He had a charitable heart and would help anyone in need. Johnny saw people through their hearts, and he treated friends as family.
The family would like to say a special thank you to their extended family and members of the Weaverville Ward for the special love and care they’ve shown Johnny and their family.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Austin; and four brothers, James, Henry, Albert and Darrel Adams.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 49 years, Brenda Moss Adams, of the home; son, Johnny ( Arlene) Adams, III, of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Shannon Adams of Asheville; brother, David Adams of Weaverville, NC; two precious granddaughters he adored, Sienna and Amara Adams, both of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters-in-law, Wanda Adams of Asheville, NC, Gayle Adams of Rogersville, TN, and Wanda Price of Asheville, NC; and two brothers-in-law, Tommy (Mary) Moss of Asheville, NC and Edward (Sarena) Moss of Leicester, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 5:00 PM, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 91 Monticello Rd., Weaverville, NC, 28787, conducted by Bishop Hedgecock.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
