Joseph Charles Sehion

            Joseph Charles Sehion, age 90, of Marion, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Autumn Care of Marion. He was born on October 18, 1930 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Sidney Alan Sehion and Carlee Penley Sehion. Joseph was a UDT frogman in the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 20 years. After he retired from the Navy, he worked as a truck driver and a stone mason. Joseph loved his family and spending time with them, along with his Navy buddies. He also enjoyed golfing and boating. Joseph was a very friendly and outgoing person who never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile. Joseph was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

            Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a niece, Cindy Sehion and a nephew, Christian Sehion. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Gail Sehion of Salisbury, NC and Joanne Morin (Steven) of Australia; his sons, Alan Sehion (Jodie) of Australia and Keith Sehion (Melissa) of Swannanoa, NC; his brother, Barry Sehion of Asheville, NC; his sister, Shirley Stafford of Panama City, FL; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews.

            Joseph will be buried at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Sehion Family and assisting them with arrangements.
