Joshua Allen Bugg

Joshua Allen Bugg, “Josh”, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his worksite on October 10th.

Born on February 26th, 1990, in Asheville, Josh was the youngest of two children. He grew up with a deep love of the outdoors – from hunting deer, to fishing, to climbing trees, to camping.

Josh had a heart of gold, and would help anyone – anywhere, anytime. He always had a joke and a smile for everyone around him. Josh’s greatest joy came from his family, in particular his daughter, Gracie. He also made a huge impact on his nephews and countless other young people by teaching them to hunt and fish, and to respect and love nature as much as he did.

Josh was preceded in death by grandmother, Joyce Bugg; grandfather, Paul Bugg; and grandfather, Charles Gutherie. Josh is survived by his daughter, Gracelynn Rhea Bugg; his fiancée, Sheala Layell; soon-to-be stepchildren, Gaige Keith, Jaxson Keith, and Savage Keith; his parents, Johnny Bugg (Tammy) and Cynthia Gutherie; his sister, Britany Bugg (Terrel); his stepbrother Saxxon Emory; his stepsister, Brittany McCoy; his grandmother, Jeanette Gutherie; his nephews, Josiah Bugg, Jaidon Wilkerson, and Nykari Holloway; and many other beloved family members and friends.

A short and sweet celebration of Josh’s life will be held at 3pm Saturday, October 18th, at 3385 Hankins Rd, Marion, NC 28752 – Burnett’s Landing. Guests are asked to bring a chair, and in lieu of flower arrangements, to bring a single flower to be floated on the lake in memorial.

Josh’s kindness and love of nature will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
