Katherine Marie (Holcombe) Gribble

Katherine “KK” Marie Holcombe Gribble, 44, of Buncombe County, NC, passed away on April 18, 2026, in Asheville, NC. She was born on August 13, 1981, in Jefferson, MO, to the late John Alvin Holcombe and Pamela Gail Lanning.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Crystal Holcombe Raines.

KK grew up in Buncombe County and attended Owen Middle School. She spent many years as a talented and beloved florist at Ingles Markets, where her creativity and kindness touched countless lives. She was a devoted member of Woodland Terrace Baptist Church. KK had a deep love for arts and crafts, community events, family, and music—especially R&B and Gospel—which brought her great joy throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Allan Gribble of Asheville, NC; her son, James Gribble of Asheville, NC; her brother, John Holcombe (Breanna) of Greenville, TN; nieces, Cameo Holcombe of Waynesville, NC, Trinity Raines of Myrtle Beach, NC, and Arabella Raines (“Bella Boo Who”) of Canton, NC; and nephews, John Raines of Cameron, NC, Dawayne Raines (Kayla) of Cameron, NC, and Xzadent Raines (“Oatmeal”) of Canton, NC.

A memorial service will be held on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Woodland Terrace Baptist Church, 31 Woodland Terrace, Asheville, NC 28806.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Mission Hospital staff, as well as the many friends and family members who have supported them during this difficult time.
