Kathy Lee Carver

            Kathy Lee Carver, 64 years old, went to be with the Lord and her soulmate, Mark Carver on October 16, 2021. Her husband preceded her in death October 16, 2017. They had been married 39 years. She was born on January 1, 1957, to William and Mary Hughes, who preceded her in death.

            She is survived by three children, Christy Sanchez of Augusta, Georgia, Joseph Carver of Marion, North Carolina, and Mary Surrett of Leicester, North Carolina. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jonathan, Ariel, Tamera, Kaleb, Kayla, Aiden, Lil Joe ,Gracie, and Danielle, and by three great-granddaughters, Chevelle, Faith, and Isabella. She had a great-grandson who will come in January. She is also survived by a sister, Wilma Ann Hughes, a brother, Eddie Hughes, and a sister-in-law, Janet Hughes, all from North Carolina.

            She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She had a light that showed so bright that everyone wanted to know her. She touched the lives of so many people who will forever be changed by her. She will be missed by many who loved her. She lived everyday to the fullest. She was the type of person to give you her last dollar if you needed it.

            A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2pm, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Ronald Dodson.
