Kathy Lorraine Edney

Kathy Lorraine Edney, 70, of Chesnee, SC, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Center. Born January 10, 1955, in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Guy Grant Edney Sr. and Alva Jean McMahan.

 Charles D. Owen Manufacturing Company employed her for over 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David “Smokey” Sehion; and siblings, David, Richard, Ronald, Donald, Guy Jr., and Arnold Edney. Surviving are her children, Gail Sehion of Salisbury, NC, Keith Sehion of Swannanoa, NC, Monica Newman of Elberton, GA, Cathy Hall of Chesnee, SC, and Jeremy Ward of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren, Malorie Pugh, Madison Sehion, Samantha Sehion, Courtney Wilder, Chandler Newman, Logan Hall, Haydenn Hall, and Carson Ward; great-grandchildren, Auberiella, Londyn, Milayna, Lindy, and Tripp Wilder; and sisters, Mary Reece and Diane Webb.

 A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa, NC, with the family receiving friends an hour prior. Rev. Frank Cantrell will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Park following the service.
