Kathy Marie (Joseph) Horvath

Kathy Marie Joseph, age 59, was born in Valentine, Nebraska March 16, 1965, to Kenneth Edgar Joseph and Laura Lee (DeMerritt) Joseph Reed lost her battle with cancer on June 13, 2024, in Asheville, NC, surrounded by her friends and family.

Kathy is survived by her son, Kenneth Horvath of Mt. Croghan, SC, and 2nd family, Aunt Carol Olsen of Bellevue, Debbie Olsen Bose of Bellevue, NE, and her children Debbie Olsen Bose of Bellevue, NE, Christy Olsen Van Bibber, Carolyn Olsen Ekstrand of Colorado, and Byron Olen Jr of Sargent, NE, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, half-siblings Rocky Lee Fischer, Colyn Clay Fischer, and Uncle Byron Olsen Sr.

She is a member of Asheville First Church of the Nazarene and has served in many roles from janitor to school board member, and church board member.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Asheville First Church of Nazarene, 385 Hazel Mill Rd, Asheville, NC 28806 on July 6, 2024.  The visitation will be from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.  The Celebration of Life will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.  Family and friends will have an opportunity to express their love and admiration for Kathy.  Please limit your expression of love to a maximum of 5 minutes.  A reception will follow the Celebration.

Another celebration of life will be held in Nebraska and will be determined at a later date.
