Larry Eugene Kilby

Larry Eugene Kilby, age 82, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Laurels of Summit Ridge in Asheville, NC.

Larry was born on August 20, 1940, in Buncombe Co., to the late Lester and Pansey Kilby. He attended Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from his job as a carpenter.

Larry was a hard-working man who loved to go fishing and hunting. He loved his family dearly and he will be deeply missed.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 59 years, Hazel Treadway Kilby; a son, Todd (Michelle) Kilby of Swannanoa; a grandson, Hunter Kilby of Swannanoa; a great-grandson, Bentlee Kilby of Swannanoa; two sisters, Geraldine Ray of Old Fort, NC and Nancy (Keith) Marshall of Forest City, NC; and two nieces, Teresa (Randy) Bartlett of Black Mountain, NC and Kathy (Herschel) Presley of SC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church, 200 Park St., Swannanoa, NC 28778, conducted by Pastor Bobby Shehan.
