Leah Ethel (McKimney) Mikolajczyk

Leah Ethel McKinney Mikolajczyk, age 79, of Swannanoa, NC passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Leah was born on July 7, 1941 in McDowell Co., NC to the late Gerney McKinney and Edith Parker McKinney.

She was a member of Swannanoa Heights Missionary Baptist Church. Her children say she was a great mother, homemaker and their hero. She was very smart and had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed watching birds, decorating the home and cooking. She made the best biscuits and fried chicken, too.

In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by three brothers, Olen, Edward, and John McKinney; and a sister, Susan McKinney.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three sons, Michael, Joseph, and Stephen Mikolajczyk, all of Swannanoa; her daughter, Susan (Frank) Kinsey of Ringgold, GA; the father of her children, Albert Mikolajczyk, of Swannanoa; two brothers, Robert McKinney and Mike (Vickie) McKinney both of Swannanoa; five grandchildren, Mike (Hannah) Walker of Cary, NC, Megan, Junior, and Justice Kinsey, all of Ringgold, GA and Landon Mikolajczyk of Lexington, SC; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Walker, of Cary, NC.

The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
