Lenda Mae (Rickman) Wyatt

Lenda Mae Rickman Wyatt, age 80, of Leicester, NC, passed away peacefully at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC with her loving husband of 63 years by her side.

Lenda was born on December 21, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Leonard Rickman and Lula Mae Harmon Rickman. She was a homemaker and loved her family deeply.

Lenda was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her “tribe” by having family game nights, and dinners together.

 Lenda was usually the life of the party. She was full of fun, laughter and smiles. She loved dressing up each Christmas as Santa Claus and would hand out candy canes to children and the elderly. She also loved to grow a flower garden, make quilts and crochet. As a young girl, Lenda enjoyed singing with her parents, too.  She was a joyful lady who was full of love for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 In addition to her parents, Lenda was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby G. Rickman.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, James “J.B.” Wyatt; her daughter, Lisa Davis and her husband Conley of Leicester, NC; two granddaughters, Misti Davis and her husband Chris Macdonald and Samantha Davis, both of Leicester, NC; great- granddaughter, Hadley Macdonald of Leicester, NC; great-grandson, Kyler Macdonald of Leicester, NC; and two brothers, Earnest (PeeWee) Rickman and his wife, Mellie and Everette (E.L.) Rickman and his wife Edna, both of Bluefield, WVA.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Lenda will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC, 28778, conducted by Reverend James Lamb.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
