Lillian Marie (Arrington) Hart

Lillian Marie Hart, 81, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.  Born August 1, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Grace Arrington.

 In line with her desire to care for others, she was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 45 years.  Lillian was devout to her Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling, shopping, and dining out with friends and family. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Rebecca Penley.  Surviving are her children, Tammy Young of Swannanoa, NC, Bobby Lee Penley of Swannanoa, NC, Maverick Hart of Arden, NC, and Freddrick Hart of Marshall, NC; siblings, Margie Lytle, Ollie Mae Allen, and Grady Arrington all of Swannanoa, NC; four grandsons, Johnathan Ogle, Josh Ogle, Michael Ogle, and Brayden Ogle all of Swannanoa, NC; one granddaughter, Mandy Ogle of Swannanoa; 12 nieces and nephews; and 15 great grandchildren.

 A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2022, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC, 28778 with Pastor Jeff Steinel officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

The burial will follow the service at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Rd., Asheville, NC 28804

The family would like to acknowledge Mission Hospital of Asheville and especially the staff on the 4th and 9th floors for the care that they provided. 

The family would also like to offer a special thank you to Tiffany Lytle and Billy Lytle for helping the family during this difficult time.
