Lucas Rex Taylor

Lucas “Luke” Rex Taylor, age 59, of Candler, NC, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Luke was born on October 19, 1963 in Haywood County, to the late Fred Ellis Taylor and Joyce Viril Griffin Taylor. He worked as a machinist at Carolina Metals, Inc., in Asheville.

He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to tease his family and friends and make them laugh. He loved to be out doors and enjoyed going fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Greg and Grady Taylor.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 36 years, Jeannette Lunsford Taylor; two daughters, April Taylor and her husband Michael and Robin Clevinger and her husband Kevin, all of Candler; five grandsons, Zeke, Jake, and Kent Baker, James Taylor, and Cory Clevinger, all of Candler; and three granddaughters, Rosaleigh Taylor, Leorah and Arabella Clevinger, all of Candler.

The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
