Mack Jerome King

Mack Jerome King, age 86, of Candler, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center in Asheville.

He was born on December 5, 1935, in Buncombe Co., NC to the late Herschel King and Myrtle Muse King. He retired from his job as a truck driver for Helig-Meyers Furniture Company and attended Mount Moriah Wesleyan Church in Candler, NC.

Mack was a quiet, gentle soul. He was a hard worker and when he had time away from work, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and sitting on his front porch relaxing. Mack came from a close-knit family, and he loved them very much. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him too.

In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Taylor King; and a sister, Mary King Israel.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his two brothers, Wallace “Wally”  (Vronda) King and Fred King, both of Candler, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, 2312 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715 conducted by Pastor C. W. Anthony.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1456 Sand Hill Rd., Candler, NC., 28715.
