Margaret Irene (McGinnis) Dalton

Margaret Irene McGinnis Dalton, 70, of Black Mountain went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.  Born May 3, 1951 in Buncombe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Farlen and Edna McGinnis.  She was of Baptist faith and was devoted to her Lord with all of her heart.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Trent Edward Dalton, brothers, Luther William McGinnis and Bill Nelson McGinnis.  Surviving are her devoted spouse, James Edward Dalton; children, Christopher James Dalton and his spouse, Candace, of Canton, Teresa Dalton Sisk of Black Mountain, and Jania Dalton Wilson and her spouse, Justin, of Black Mountain; siblings, Roy McGinnis and his spouse, Judy, of Ohio, Glenn McGinnis and his spouse, Connie, of Tennessee, Elizabeth Rebecca Swann of Black Mountain, McFarlin McGinnis (Mack) of Black Mountain; grandchildren, Jordan Dalton, Kaine Dalton, Abby Sisk, Erin Sisk, Toby Wilson, and Weston Dalton; and a great-grandson, Colson Chapman.  She loved her family and was selflessly dedicated to her Lord. She would remind her children that she loves them, but God loves them more. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 10, 2022 in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa with Rev. Donald Justice officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain.  Condolences may be made to the family at www.penlandfamilyfuneralhome.
