Margaret Lou (Hoyle) McGinnis

            Margaret Lou Hoyle McGinnis, age 80, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at her home. She was born on August 9, 1941 to the late Russell Roscoe Hoyle and Lillie Belle Byrd Hoyle in Marion, NC. Margaret attended Old Fort High School. She was retired from Brussman but spent most of her life as a homemaker. Margaret was a member of Salem Freewill Baptist Church in Old Fort, NC. Everyone that met her loved her. She was a very giving, caring and sweet person, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone.

            Along with her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther W. McGinnis; and brother; Bobby R. Hoyle. Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons; James McGinnis of Swannanoa, NC, Michael McGinnis and his wife, Lisa of Asheville, NC, and David McGinnis and his wife, Tammy of Conover, NC; her sisters, Linda Harris of Marion, NC, Betty Smith her husband, Junior of Marion, NC; her brothers; Wayne Hoyle and his wife, Brenda of Marion, NC, and Jimmy Hoyle and his wife, Charlie Mae of Old Fort, NC; her six grandchildren; and her eight great-grandchildren.

            A celebration of Margaret's life will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in the Penland Family Funeral Home Chapel located at 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC 28778. Pastor Vincent White will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 1pm-2pm in the Penland's chapel. Burial will follow the service at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain, NC next to her beloved husband, Luther McGinnis.
