Marion Dale (Wrenn) Woods

Marion “Dale” Wrenn Woods, 88 (aka 39), of Asheville, passed on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Mission Hospital. Dale was born October 6, 1935, to the late George and Betty J. Wrenn.

Dale grew up as a Black Mountain resident, where she worked in the downtown Soda Shop. She regularly found herself on the Blue Ridge Parkway enjoying “leaf-looking” and a bowl of soup at the Pisgah Inn. Dale enjoyed a life of travel and could talk for hours about her adventures here and abroad; however, she especially loved sharing her time with family and friends, eating at her favorite restaurant, Creekside in Haw Creek. Dale enjoyed staying active, and age wouldn’t stop her as she would find time to play golf and pickleball.

Dale is preceded in death by her son, Todd Woods, a grandson, Timmie Berlage, and two brothers, George and John Wrenn. She is survived by daughter Kim Woods Berlage, grandchildren Josie (Mark) Dratwa, Richie (Rebecca) Berlage, Alex (Logan) Swarts, Jorden (Adam) Morrison, Mathew Woods, great-grandchildren Gracie, Lillie, Brayden, Eliza, Lucas, Teagan, Saige, Tristan, Jax, Finn, and Baby Swarts.

Dale was an active member of Groce United Methodist Church in Haw Creek. A Memorial Service for Dale will be held at Groce United Methodist Church 954 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC, 28805, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11 am.
