Marshall Humphrey

With sad hearts, but a life well lived, we announce that Marshall Silas Humphrey, 88, passed over to the other side on April 2,2025.

He served in the U.S. Army in the 50's and accomplished many jobs in and around Asheville. He was a big fan of the NFL and NASCAR. He loved to travel and especially taking cruises.

Marshall was the son of the late S.M. and Flora Humphrey and step-father, Roy Frady. He was also preceded by his sister, Lucille Lanier of King, NC; and his sister, Patsy Riley of Ohio.

He is survived by his loving partner and caregiver, Barbara Gentry and all his loving special family members: Carver and Laura Hopper of Shelby and Corinna Lewis of Candler. Also, Tyson Hopper, Tevin Greene, Makayla and little Scotland and Eli. We will all miss him, for he was such a special part of our family.

There will be no services at his request but a family gathering will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please do something special for someone today in his memory.
