Marty Cole

Marty Cole, age 66 of Swannanoa, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Marty was born on September 4, 1954, in Buncombe County to the late Don Cole and Yvonne Jenkins Cole.

Marty loved his family and friends and everyone who knew him, loved him too. He loved his dog “Charlie” and you could always find them together sitting on the  front porch. Marty was retired and enjoyed being on the lake in his boat. He loved to sing and play his guitar and was always the life of the party.

In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by his two brothers, Andy and Randy Cole.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his three sons, Alan (Catia) Cole of Hendersonville, Jason Cole of Asheville, and Travis (Heather) Cole of Swannanoa;  a sister, Gwen (Lew) Early of Swannanoa; and a grandson, Hayden (Allison) Cole of Hendersonville.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home conducted by his close friend, David Cody.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
