Mary Ethel (Creasman) Penley

Mary Ethel Creasman Penley, 90, of Asheville, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on April 22, 2025. Born on November 11, 1934, to the late Theodore James Creasman and Janie Stepp Creasman.

Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Hardy Creasman, Theodore Creasman, and Roy Creasman, her grandson, Sean Penley, and her former husband and friend, Don Penley.

Mary found joy in music, with a special fondness for country tunes. She cherished quiet moments with a good book and treasured the time spent surrounded by her beloved family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Rogers(Gary) of Asheville, NC; son, Mike Penley of Alexander, NC; sisters, Ruth Taylor of Asheville, NC, Mabel Moore of Old Fort, NC; granddaughter, Taylor Black(Josh); grandsons, Jamie Lindsey(Jennifer) of Asheville, NC, Jarrett Lindsey(Crystal) of Asheville, NC; great granddaughters, Keagan Lindsey of New York, NY, Dorothy Penley of Canton, NC, Emmaline Durkovic(Ethan) of Asheville, NC, Trinity Rogers of Asheville, NC; special friends, Mary Meadows of Asheville, NC, Norma Burleson of Black Mountain, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11 AM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at noon. Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park, located at 1610 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805, at 1:30 p.m. Larry Rogers and Marc Penley will be officiating.
