Matthew James Simpson

          Matthew “Matt” James Simpson, age 36, of Conover, NC, passed away on January 16, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Matt was born on October 5, 1984 in Buncombe County to Donna Burris Simpson and the late Danny Simpson. Matt worked as a landscaper. He was a quiet and gentle soul who had a very big heart.  Matt was compassionate and caring and he loved his friends and family very much. He also enjoyed going fishing and listening to music.

          In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rosalee Williams and Jimmy Dean Burris; and his paternal grandparents, Patsy and Bobby Simpson.

          Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Donna Simpson of Conover; two daughters, Brooklyn Sky Simpson and Macie Grace Simpson of Nebo, NC; a son, Jaydon Alexander Simpson of Nebo, NC; a sister, Tabitha (Ashley) Warren of Asheville; two nephews, Demetrius and Caden Warren both of Asheville; mother of his children, Tiffany Sisk of Nebo; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

          The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
