Nancy Alice Owensbey

            Nancy Alice Owensbey, age 65, of Swannanoa, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Universal Healthcare in Fletcher. She was born on March 20, 1956 in Buncombe County to the late Charles Junior Owensbey and Blanche Burgin Owensbey. Nancy graduated from Owen High School in 1974. She was a small business owner in electronics and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Nancy loved being outdoors and especially loved her cats. She was a quiet lady and one of the most humble people. Nancy had battled cancer since 1990 and she fought very hard and courageously. She is now at rest in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.

            Along with her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Moore; and a brother, Carroll Owensbey. Those left behind to cherish Nancy's memory are her brother, Charles "Chuck" Owensbey of Swannanoa; her sister, Charlene Marlowe (Ronald) of Hendersonville; her niece, Michelle Lutz (John) of Hendersonville; and her great-niece and great-nephew, Isaiah and Angela Lutz, both of Hendersonville.

            A private family graveside service will be held at Piney Grove Cemetery in Swannanoa. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Owensbey Family and assisting them with arrangements.
