Nancy (Hall) Ulmer

            Nancy Hall Ulmer, 83, of Asheville, NC, went to be with the Lord and her late husband Gene after several years of declining health on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

            She was born on October 19, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Walter Hall and Ethel Fuller Hall. She married Eugene K.F. Ulmer in June 1963. They resided in Franklin, NC for several years before relocating to Jefferson, NC where she and Gene owned and operated the Best Western. After retiring, they moved to Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community in Asheville.

            Nancy was very involved with music all her life, playing the piano and French horn and working with choirs at churches they attended. She was also active with Bible studies and traveling. Nancy was a cheerful, sweet and loving woman.

            In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Gene and her sister, Irene Winklesprect. She is survived by her son, Friederich Ulmer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ernie and Hazel Ulmer; and several nieces and nephews.

            A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the kind and compassionate care given to Nancy by Deerfield and Care Partners Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Deerfield Residence Assistance Fund or Care Partners Hospice.
