Osbert Frank Gunter

Osbert “Frankie” Gunter, 53, of Fairview, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at his home. Born February 11, 1971 in Buncombe County, NC, he was a son of the late Osbert Gunter and Wanda Mae Fowler. He attended services at Spring Mountain Baptist Church in Fairview, NC. Of his many enjoyments in life, watching a close NASCAR race especially when Dale Earnhart or Dale Jr. were racing, cheering on UNC during basketball and football season, and spending time with his grandchildren were among his favorites. He certainly had a heart bigger than his body. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Girard. Surviving are his children, Tyler Gunter and his spouse, Rikki, Devin Gunter and his spouse, Ashley, and Amy Mullen all of Fairview, NC; sister, Lisa Ragan of Waynesville, NC; 12 grandchildren; a special friend, Linda Gauntt; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on the 29th of December at Spring Mountain Baptist Church, 11 Spring Mountain Road, Fairview, NC 28730 with pastor Marc Shumaker officiating.
