Ottis "Mack" Homer White

Ottis “Mack” Homer White, age 81, of Swannanoa, NC went home to be with Jesus peacefully, on Friday, January 13, 2023 at his residence.

Mack was born on May 21, 1941 in Buncombe County. He was the beloved grandson of the late Edward and Lottie Stewart and the son of the late Georgia Mae Huntley.

In addition to his mother and grandparents, Mack was preceded in death by six brothers, Floyd White, David White, James White, Lewis White, Bobby White and Paul White; and one sister, Thelma Huntley Sampson.

Mack was retired from pastoring at Swannanoa Church of God. He was a dedicated servant to our Lord Jesus. He embraced and loved the people of the churches he pastored in Alarka, Sylva, North Wilkesboro, Burnsville, Swannanoa, and Barnardsville. He also ministered to many others throughout his life.

Surviving Mack are his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia Wimberly White; three daughters he loved and adored, Donna (Rick) Gardner of Marion, NC, Teresa White of Weaverville, NC, and his “Baby Girl”, Melissa “Missy” Hollifield of Johnson City, TN; the lights of his life, two granddaughters, his “Sunshine” Kati (Tyler Nations) Gardner of Marion, NC and his “Sweetie-Pie” Chloe Hollifield of Johnson City, TN; a cherished nephew, Keith Holder of Swannanoa, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Swannanoa Church of God, 199 Wilson Ave., Swannanoa, NC 28778, at 3:00 PM conducted by Pastors Doug Carpenter, Robert Haynie, and Danny Sprinkle.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
