Patricia Ann Wimberly White, age 83, of Swannanoa, NC, went home to be with Jesus, peacefully and reunited with the love of her life, Mack , on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehabilitation, in Black Mountain, NC.
Pat was born on December 11, 1940, in Buncombe County, NC, to the late Emory Wimberly and Margaret Evelyn Ballard Wimberly.
She was a member of Swannanoa Church of God and after her retirement, she attended faithfully, the East Black Mountain Free Will Baptist Church in Black Mountain.
Pat was a faithful and devoted Pastor’s wife. Alongside her husband, they pastored at Alarka, Sylva, North Wilkesboro, Burnsville, Swannanoa, and Barnardsville Church of God. She worked in the office at Beacon Manufacturing in Swannanoa, and at Avondale in Burnsville, in the 1980’s, and retired from Wal Mart as a sales associate in the Toy Department in 2005.
She was a kind soul who just loved people. Most of all, she loved the Lord with all of her heart and served Him faithfully every single day. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Pat loved her family deeply and her children and grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, O. H. Mack White (2023); and three sisters, Peggy Marie Wimberly, Barbara Holder and Sandy Kilpatrick.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three beautiful daughters, Donna Gardner and her husband Rick of Marion, NC, Terri White of Weaverville, NC, and Melissa “Missy” Hollifield of Johnson City, TN; two granddaughters, her “Sunshine” Kati Gardner of Marion, NC and her “Sweetie Pie” Chloe Hollifield of Johnson City, TN; two brothers, Bill Wimberly and his wife Laura, of Art, Texas and Sam Wimberly and his wife Becky, of Monroe, NC; a cherished nephew, Keith Holder of Swannanoa, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 12:00 PM at East Black Mountain Free Will Baptist Church, 200 Flat Creek Rd., Black Mountain, NC, 28711, officiated by Pastor Doug Carpenter and Pastor Danny Sprinkle.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Burial will follow the service at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 308 Gashes Creek Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.
The White family wants to thank all of the staff at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehabilitation facility for their love, care and special attention that was freely given to our mother. Pat’s family also wants to extend gratitude to the Four Seasons Pallative Care and Hospice friends who gave mom special care until the very end of her life. We are eternally grateful to all of you and you were a beautiful blessing for our mother.
