Paul Hadnagy, 79, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born October 28, 1945 in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late James and Theresa Hadnagy. He was an alumnus of Pace College where he received a B.A. in Business Administration, and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received a double master's degree in both Business Administration and Finance.
Paul proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, receiving an Expert Shooting Badge and National Defense Service Medal. After serving, he sought employment in accounting and worked as a tax specialist. Of his many enjoyments in life, hunting, fishing, and watching almost any sporting event, especially when the Yankees were playing, were among his favorites. He was a proud NRA member and true renaissance man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James "Jimmy" Hadnagy, and his sister-in-law, Loraine Hadnagy.
Surviving are his spouse, Mary Ann Hadnagy; children, Jaime Marie Hadnagy of Black Mountain, NC, Pauline Sweetman and her spouse, Kevin, of Asheville, NC, and Matthew Paul Hadnagy and his spouse, Jessica Hadnagy, of Arvada, CO; and grandchildren, Drayson Sweetman and Jordan Sweetman both of Asheville, NC, and Ruby Hadnagy and Molly Hadnagy both of Arvada, CO.
A service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Penland Family Funeral Home in the Chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior at Penland Family Funeral Home from 12 PM to 2 PM. The family would like to thank the fire department and paramedics for their life-saving efforts.
