Pauline (Ensley) Morgan

            Pauline Ensley Morgan, age 99, of Swannanoa, NC,  passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Pelican Health Asheville, in Swannanoa. She was born on May 14, 1922, in Madison County, NC, to the late Geter Ensley and Maggie Rector Ensley. Pauline was a member of Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker.

            In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter William Morgan, Sr.; a daughter, Frances Allen; two brothers, Jasper Ensley and Chester ”Duck” Ensley; daughter-in-law, Wanda T. Morgan; two grandsons, Stephen Morgan and Jonathan Michael Allen; and a great-grandson, Alexander Philip Morgan.

            Those left behind to cherish her memory are her four sons, Dexter William “Bill” Morgan, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, J. Kenneth (Karen) Morgan of Louisville, KY, James E. (Brenda) Morgan of Black Mountain, NC, and Gary D. (Beth) Morgan, of Statesboro, GA; a daughter, Theresa (Larry) Carter of Asheville, NC; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

            A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 1pm in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home, officiated by Pauline’s grandson Philip Morgan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12pm-1pm. Burial will follow the service at Mountain View Memorial Park.
