Rhonda Gail (Parton) Ray

Rhonda Gail Parton Ray, aged 66, passed away September 13, 2025, at her home in Morristown, TN.

Rhonda was born December 27, 1958, in Buncombe County, NC, to the late Luther Parton and Cornelia Parton. She was a member of Burgin Chapel in her youth. Rhonda loved flowers, spending time with family, grandbabies and beloved dog Lucky. She was full of life and always laughing.

In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in passing by her daughter, Carmen Ray.

Rhonda is survived by her husband Benjamin Owens; daughters, Olivia (Larry) Burleson of Marion, NC, Jamie Honeycutt of Morristown, TN, and Jessica Ray of Asheville, NC and Ashley Owens of Morristown, NC; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and beloved dog, Lucky.

A service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC 28778, in the chapel, with Reverend Robert Haney officiating. With a visitation to take place an hour prior. A private interment at Mountain View Memorial Park will take place directly after the service.

Special thanks to her daughter, Jamie Honeycutt, for taking such good care of our mother so that she could remain home in her last days. Thank you to Ben Owens for loving our mother so much and taking such good care of her.
