Robert Edward Lee

        Robert E. (Bob) Lee passed away on March 2nd, 2019 in Hendersonville, NC.  He was 77.

        Robert was born on January 9th, 1942 and was the devoted son to the late John Oran Lee and Wilma Gregg (Nan) Lee, in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended, and played football at Lee H. Edwards High School. He was a home builder by trade, and he worked as a cameraman for local television stations in Minnesota, New Mexico and Asheville, North Carolina. He was an extraordinary woodworking craftsman, and his furniture pieces will continue to be enjoyed for generations. He will be remembered fondly as the go-to computer genius for family members, and friends for over thirty years. His countless hours spent teaching, troubleshooting and sharing will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed by all.

        He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, JoAnn Lee Adkins; and his brothers, John O. Lee Jr. and James Terry Lee.

        He is survived by his daughters, Joan H. Tolley and family, Kim Hensley and family; his nieces Brenda Adkins Martin and family, Autumn Lee Yeager and family, Kelly Lee Goodwin and family; his sisters-in-law, Gail Gaulding Lee, and Joyce Lee Smith; and many more cousins, extended family, and friends. We rejoice, knowing of the reunion in Heaven now. Oran, Nan, JoAnn, John Jr., Terry and Robert.

        A funeral service will be held for him at 2 o’clock pm, March 5th, 2019 in the chapel of the Penland Family Funeral Home, located at 125 South Avenue in Swannanoa, North Carolina, 28778. The family will be receiving friends in the chapel an hour before the service. The Rev. Leonard Cole will be officiating. Burial will be at Piney Grove Cemetery in Swannanoa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Lee Family.
