Robert Peterson, III, age 23, of Candler, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Peterson was born on August 21, 1996, in Ocala, Florida, to Virginia Morales Hernandez.
Robert was a Christian man and worked as a laborer in construction. He had a laugh that would make you laugh, and a smile that would light up a room. Robert loved spending time with his family, and adored the time he spent with his son, Noah. He enjoyed long drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping to take a hike and admire the beauty of nature. Robert also really loved music. He said music soothed his soul and helped him to meditate. He was known to be late for social events, but he always showed up and that was all that mattered. He was a quiet person with a huge heart, a loving son, a perfect dad, a wonderful brother and uncle, and a great friend, who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory in addition to his mother, are his step-father, Vincent Perez of Candler; his son, Noah Peterson, of Swannanoa; four sisters, Crystal Barnett and husband Randy of Arden, Victoria Pickens and husband Andrew of Asheville, Vanessa Peterson McDonald and husband Andre of Hendersonville and April Burroughs and husband Matthew of Asheville; nephews, Ethan Jepson, Tristan Wood, both of Arden, Talib Ledford and Carter Pickens of Asheville, Antonio Carson of Hendersonville, and Matthew and Isaac Burroughs, both of Asheville; nieces, Leila Pickens of Asheville, and Ariana McDonald of Hendersonville; an uncle, Jerry Willis of Candler; and maternal grandmother, Peggy Willis of Arden.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Penland Family Funeral Home.
A private family funeral for Robert will be held at Penland Family Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Joe Hoffman at a later date.
