Roberta “Bobbie” Louise Spicer Keller, age 98, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2020 at Mountain Ridge Wellness and Rehabilitation in Black Mountain, NC. Ms. Keller was born on March 22, 1922, in Cumberland, MD, to the late Joseph Henry Spicer and Leah Leydig Spicer. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Swannanoa, NC and had worked as a Proof Reader for the Palm Beach Post Times in West Palm Beach, Florida before her retirement. Ms. Keller was a kind, generous and caring lady who always put others needs ahead of herself. She was a loving soul who also had a spunky side and was fun-loving and witty. She loved spending time at the beach and she also loved the mountains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Bell; and two favorite aunts, Marion Leydig and Elizabeth DeLozier.
Surviving Ms. Keller are her daughter, Anna Louise Greene of Asheville; four grandsons, Todd Greene and wife Michele of Jupiter, FL, Ronny Greene and wife Laura, of North Palm Beach, FL, Scott Greene and Doug Greene, both of West Palm Beach, FL; a granddaughter, Amy Shaffer and husband Robert of Jupiter, FL; eight great-grandchildren; two cousins, Marion Cowan of Mission, TX, and William DeLozier and wife Angie of Fuqua-Varina, NC; a nephew, Stephen Bell and wife Sherrie of Clewiston, FL; and a niece, Sandra Morrell and husband Al of Clewiston, FL.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional attention and care that the Mountain Ridge Wellness Center staff provided to their dear Bobbie.
