Ronald Keller Arnold

Ronald Keller Arnold, age 91, of Arden, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Black Mountain, NC.

Ron was born on November 5, 1933, in Bowling Green, KY, to the late Arnold August Schovan (1961) and Elizabeth Duncan Keller (1998). He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the service, Ron earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. His career included work with NASA and General Electric.

An avid square dancer and woodworker, Ron also enjoyed cheering on the University of Florida football and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Thomas Craig Arnold. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Frances Carol (Fincher) Arnold who steadfastly cared for him during his recent years of decline; his daughters Elizabeth Keller Arnold and her spouse Adrian Costello of Yardley, PA, and Jennifer Arnold Webster and her spouse Jesse of Walland, TN; his daughter-in-law Nathalie Manuella Arnold of Greenville, SC; grandsons Skyler Arnold, Duncan Costello, Sitka Arnold, and Lyle Webster; and granddaughter Sanne Arnold.

Interment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors at a later date.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at the North Carolina State Veterans Home for the compassionate care and love they provided to Ron throughout his final year.
