Ronald Clifford Redmond, age 79, of Asheville, NC, passed away, on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Redmond was born on December 13, 1940, in Buncombe Co., NC, to the late George Clifford Redmond and Carmen Ballard Redmond. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Asheville. Mr. Redmond was retired and was the co-owner of Redmond Oil Company for over 50 years with his brother Michael. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. Ronnie loved his family dearly. He was a loving husband to his wife Cathy, delighted in his sons, and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew him, loved and enjoyed him, too. He will be missed greatly.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Cathy Dickerson Redmond, of the home; two sons, Ronald Charles Redmond and wife Brenda of Arden and Cliff Redmond and wife Cathy of Leicester; two sisters, Colleen Gurley and Sherry Rotondo and husband Frank, both of Waynesville; a brother, Michael Redmond and wife Kathy of Asheville; four grandchildren, Chad Redmond of Greensboro, NC, Ryan Redmond and wife Christie, Tanner Redmond and his girlfriend Kirsten, and Chloe Redmond, all of Leicester; and two great-grandchildren, Emmry and Carter Redmond, both of Leicester.
A special “thank-you” to the wonderful caregivers, Sally, Diane, Tina and Loretta, for the loving care that was given to Ronnie.
A graveside service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 1st, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery off of Ben Lippin Road in Asheville. Rev. Ronnie Owens will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Four Seasons Hospice at 581 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
